Tacoma had the first meeting of 2012 Wednesday morning. We had our business meeting and there was a lot of excitement in all the activities we are doing now and upcoming.
This is Lori H. and Eleanor Burns 'Night and Day' quilt...beautifully done!
This is Jona, our knitter in the group....she can whip up anything so quick...we are in awe of her 'flying fingers'. Her secret sister gave her yarn and she made this lovely shawl.
Ann W showing here great boats that have been signed....very cheerful!
This is Carol T. the owner of these wonderful old runners that someone meticulously made from YoYo's....Stunning!!
Close-up
Barb is cleaning out and came across some jewels..This is a May West Sewing Vest with all kinds of pockets on the inside.
Her question was, 'Do you like this bag?"....it was pretty plain and you could take it or leave it. BUT.......keep scrolling...
THIS IS WHAT IT HELD WHEN TURNED RIGHT SIDE OUT. A BEAUTIFUL JACKET. SOME OF THE GIRLS WANTED HER TO FIND THE PATTERN SO THEY COULD MAKE IT. SHE SAID IT WAS DONE IT A LONG TIME AGO AND WAS NOT SURE SHE COULD FIND A PATTERN...It was pretty neat and what a surprise to us.
Judy is one of those quilters who goes outside the box doing things that are unique. She made this oval table cloth with round napkins that are folded for Christmas.Beautiful and bright!!
Margo is doing the BOM mini series. This is the first one for January. www.countryjunktion.com for those who might like to do it.Buttons are used for the eyes...button hole stitch. A fun project.
Lori H made this unique table mat.You set your sewing machine on it. It's clear plastic pocket allows you to see your scissors etc.
Sandy K made this great child's quilt. Dr. Seuss...Bright and cheerful!!
This is the back. Really neat idea.
Each month we have HDYDT? (How do you do that)
This month it was yo-yo's...there are all kinds which surprised many of us. If you look closely you can see butterflies...ovals...hearts...many different sizes. Great to add to a purse...wear as a pin....and on and on. Barb demonstrated for us. It's a very simple technique that anyone can do.
Each month there is a drawing. Jona made and donated 2 pair of socks and 2 knit hats.Sue D (shown) and Pauline were the winners this month.
It was a wonderful time together and many of us went to the 197 diner afterwards for lunch. See you in a couple of weeks.HAPPY QUILTING!!!
