Tacoma Meeting October 16

Our Tacoma Quilters of Litchfield held a short business meeting and what we called a 'Block Party' and of course we had 'Bring and Brag' (formally show 'n tell). I also will be sharing a few pics of the very successful auction we held Oct. 12th.

BRING AND BRAG:
Sue D with this beautiful 'DELECTABLE MOUNTAIN' 
Carol T. 'PHOTO ALBUM' using beautiful scenery of fabric she purchased in Arizona.
 Sandy K 'TURNING TWENTY' this was a workshop held in September.

BLOCK PARTY

We had 5 who shared different techniques with hand-outs. 
I am sharing some photo's to show the different layouts that were not in the handouts.

Sharing was Ann, Margo, Barb, Sue R and Helen
These were simple and quick ways to make a quilt.

THIS IS THE BOOK WITH 10 MIN. BLOCK
 Ann demonstrated the 'TEN MINUTE BLOCK' This one uses a smaller center. 
 10 min. block using all the same size.
 Barb taught - 'TUBE QUILTING' using 2 1/2" strips
 another possible layout
 amazing what you can do using your imagination.
 Helen shared 'how to 'STRIP SET BLOCK' using 4 1/2" blocks and cutting.

Sue taught flying geese - making 4 at a time.

Margo taught 9 and 4-patch disappearing blocks. 
Sandy J above has a finished quilt using this technique.

Barb taught  'Delectable Mountain' and
Sue D shows a finished example above.

We all had handouts but some of them were not printed 
so I took pics so the gals could have this visual.

AUCTION

Just a few of 'before' pics of the auction. We had over 600 items 
and it was a lot of work that took lots of hands.
Our co-odinator was Suanne who put endless hours into it and was so appreciated by all.
 She did an amazing job along with others to make it very successful.

We love them both and gave us a laugh which we needed from time to time.

Also did an outstanding job putting it all together. 
 Kat who collected lunch monies.

It was a busy time this month and very enjoyable for all. And of course the best part is that we gave all the 'stuff' we did not want and then purchased more 'stuff'.
 Their junk became our treasure. Until,,,,,,,,,,,

October 2, 2013 Meeting

Tacoma Quilters of Litchfield met with lots of business and lots of fun. When you get a group of gals together that are are quilters there is a lot of excitement. Of course, as we catch up there is plenty of snacks and coffee.  OUR BIG NEWS....

KAT has a new grand baby in January. An adorable
hooded sweater by 'Bernat' free pattern.
JONA finished 'TURNING TWENTY' Book 9 it is done in 30's reproduction fabric.
 She added extra blocks to make a queen size.
