Show and Tell

Anne T. went to the Monmouth museum and bought these two quilts. 

This one is a panel, not applique. 

Elly made "The Lady" at our charity workshop x two. 

Leanne showed us a June Tail Quilt at you go kit for a sewing machine cover and caddy. 

Donna W. used a specialty ruler to make this miniature pineapple block.

Sharon West made this "Cactus Flower" table runner by Judy Neimeyer.

March Meeting

 

Tacoma president Barb gave a demo on ways to use panels in quilts and asked members to bring in their panel quilts.

Here, Sue Rap shows how she made this patriotic quilt for her husband based on the center panel. She pieced the sawtooth star blocks and took advantage of the printed strips to make borders. Sue showed the quilt sideways to keep it off the floor and clean. A timeless quilt. 

Kat brought in her horse panel quilt. The panel borders are pieced. Machine quilted by Kathy B. 

Donna M showed us this delightful seaside scene panel. This is the second quilt she has made using this panel. 

Baby bibs, reversible and all the fabrics are adorable. 

Donna calls this on-point rail fence quilt "Garden Delight". This Jelly Rail quilt is a pattern from Seams Sew Perfect 1023. Long arm quilted by Kathy B. 

Donna put her leftover blocks and fabrics to good use on the back of  "Garden Delight". 

Diane made her variation on "Jewel Box" quilt from a pattern in a Quilters Newsletter Magazine from March 1999. Pattern by Kathy Munkelwitz. Another winner from Diane!

Carol showed us this quilt made with vintage embroidered blocks. 

Sharon stitched this lively quilt top using a pattern from Villa Rosa Designs. The pattern is "The Lady" by Pat Fryer. Tacoma's Anne W. led a workshop using this pattern for our charity quilts. 

Elly likes a challenge and her star ornament certainly fits the bill! The pattern is called Moravian Star. Elly got the directions from a video offered at https://dizzyquilter.com/2017/02/05/moravian-star-alison-glass-version/. If you like a challenge, too, why not give it a try! 

Kim wowed us with this beautiful quilt featuring Michal Miller fabrics. She began the quilt at a Maine Quilts workshop in 2019. The pattern is called "Keyboard Kaleidoscope" by Marilyn Foreman. Gorgeous! 

Leanne designed this Mariner's Compass and Spool quilt. She will enter it in Maine Quilts this summer, so be sure to look for it at the show! Leanne says that her compass is not paper pieced!

And the star of our show....Betsy! Wearing her patchwork jacket from the 1970s that still fits her! You go, girl!
