Tacoma YARD SALE -September 23, 2017

Just want to share a few pictures of our successful Yard Sale held September 23
at the Litchfield Sportsmen's Club.
We set up on Friday...women bringing boxes...bags...sewing machine....quilt racks....food.....and yards and yards of material....yarn......card stamping ....you name it we had it. It was an exciting fun time had by all.
A big 'thank you' for the men who helped carry our 'stuff'. It was so appreciated.

Posting a few pictures so you can get the flavor of our day.
Just before we opened and in the process of getting ready.

Tacoma - September 20

Tacoma Lakes Quilters met and held a workshop to make name tags. A new gal walking into our group has a difficult time with names as well as some of the old timers., so we decided that it was time to do something about it. So armed with machines and a packet by Brenda and Brenda we set out to decorate ours. We will wear them at meetings and area group functions.

We are getting ready for our Yard Sale to be held this weekend so tied up some loose ends.
And then of course Show 'n Tell is always popular whenever we meet.

First Meeting Sep 2017-18

Tacoma Lakes Quilters met Wednesday for our first meeting of the new membership year 2017-2018. It was good to see old friends again and welcome a few new members. We have a couple of new officers this year, and we're looking forward to another great year of programs and activities.

Dues were collected, a budget was approved, Sherry conducted the mini raffle, funds were collected for Food for Thought, and we discussed the upcoming Area 4 meeting. We also held a brief discussion about our upcoming YARD SALE, which is September 23 at the Litchfield Sportsman's Club. We will continue with the NICU quilts as our charity project, for the third year in a row; and KathyB plans to create a challenge for us for Maine Quilts 2018.

DonnaW introduced a new Block of the Month program for this year. She and Margo will be specifying a size for the blocks each month, and perhaps a theme or color and each participant will make and keep her own block and assemble a small sampler by the end of the year.

There were quite a few projects for Show and Tell, and it was fun to see what members had been doing over the summer.
