October Shop Hop 2012

Tacoma Litchfield Quilters headed out this beautiful Fall day on a shop hop. This is a quick posting ....wanted our Pres. who is on vacation to see what we did today. Helen G who is in charge of our road trips gave each of us a bag of goodies: thread, she made adorable little change purses in wonderful colors, sewing machine needles, small tablet, chocolate bars, water, spool of thread(pictured below. It was special and we thank her for all the work that went into it.

Quilt shops visited- The Fabric GardenMadison..they gave us a gift package and 10% discount. Pinwheels Quilting, Skowhegan. Then we travelled to Big G's for lunch. Then off to Marden's, Waterville and Yardgoods Center, Waterville.

This was the gift we all received from Fabric Gardens.
Pattern that is Jelly Roll friendly....2 -30's fat quarters,
tape measure and of course a piece of candy. They also had candies and donuts.

Following are just random shots at lunch time.

We all agreed it was a fun day...Of course, many purchases were made. Please remember most of these were random pics at lunch. We had a nice time ...getting to know each other better and lots of laughs.....always fun!

October 3 - Meeting

A rainy day but a room full of women laughing and enjoying one another. A business meeting followed by demo's of new tools, Show 'n Tell, a drawing for 'secret sisters' and three fortunate women who had their names drawn to receive fat quarters from each member that signed up for 'fat quarter club.' It is always a big stash builder.

Demo of a brand new tool we were excited about was from Blocloc tool .
Check out the demo online.
It will make a perfect block...no slips!!!

This was a donated top from a few years back by an elderly former member, Arlene P. It was quilted and bound and given to Plains Baptist Church where we hold our meetings. Carol T. is the pastor's wife and a member.

Barb D. - a backpack made from charm squares...she is ready for her trip and as she said, 'will not lose this because no one will have one like it'. Really cute!!
Ready with her backpack and the sweater her secret sister made her last year....Looking great!

She says it was simple to make.
Kat made this baby quilt for a soon to arrive little one.
