Tacoma Lakes Quilters - March 20, 2019

Tacoma met and had a short business meeting. We collected 150 bibs at a recent workshop. 50 each have been distributed to Hospice, Maine Veterans Home and Gray Birch Nursing Home. This will be an ongoing project. 

Our 36" square quilts for the NICU in Portland is also ongoing charity project.

Some members are participating in the 'Pizza Box' challenge ...it is a form of Round Robin. They started with a block of their own and each time it is turned in and given to another participant to add another row. We look forward to seeing the finished project in a few months. 

Area 4 meeting is being held April 2nd at Hope Baptist Church, Reservations with your local chapter and $4 per person. Speaker Kathryn Simel from Mid-Coast Cottage Designs. Bring a Nautical Themed or Primary Color fat quarter. These will be given away to the lucky winner. A light lunch will be served. 

Today we had a workshop with Helen to make a great bag "Pockets on Parade" Pattern PS015 They are a work in progress and we will share the finished ones next time.

Tacoma Workshop March 6,2019

A Workshop was held today...cutting....sewing...pressing... lots of hands making for easier work. Our goal was 10 charity quilts but I am sure there are more than that in the making. Will show our progress next time. Helen was in charge and it was a very profitable day. Such an enjoyable day working together.
