We were not able to meet at all in March because of snowstorms which is a terrible state of affairs. Fortunately the sun shone down on us and we were able to meet on April 4. So good to see old friends again.

When Ann worked at Marden's she collected rose fabrics. She used those fabrics to make a Disappearing Nine patch quilt. So lovely!
A Christmas word quilt for Maine Quilts 2023, for our challenge. The theme for this year's show is Christmas in July so you can see the background fabrics here blend the two challenges. Great job, Ann!
Another vibrant quilt from Leann, this one is a string quilt. Helen Garneau machine quilts all of Leann's quilts.
Another entry for the Christmas in July challenge at Maine Quilts. Leann plans on adding a little bling to this quilt.
Leann won the "Spring Garden" block of the month blocks last month.
That Elly, always up to something, and this month was no different. Elly's husband Robert picked out this fabric when they went shopping. He challenged her to make a quilt with this striped fabric. Wonderful!
Elly used a diagonal stripe for this quilt. She said it took 5 yards to make the top.
Pyramid Power by Running with Scissors. Elly likes to use black in her quilts and it certainly makes these colors pop. Elly said she doesn't do white. Maybe we should challenge her to make a quilt with a white background. She is so inventive, I'm sure she could come up with a stunning quilt.
Sandi made this baby quilt for a friend's granddaughter. Lucky little girl. Sandi is sending this quilt to Alaska.
Sandi made this little bunny just in time for Easter. Bunny is filled with candy. The pattern is from The Quilted Forest.
As if she doesn't have enough to do getting our quilt retreat organized, Sandi found the time to make this happy quilt top for charity. Thank you for all you do, Sandy.
Pam made this quilt that was designed in EQ6 by Ann Ball of Winslow. It is called Madeline and is made up of nine patch blocks and pinwheel blocks. Very nice, Pam.
Sue made this baby quilt from a kit from Pins and Needles Quilt Shop. Long arm quilting by Helen Garneau. Some little child is going to love it!
Meliss followed a tutorial from the Janome website showing how to do curved piecing. Beautiful curves and colors.

Donna has been having a lot of fun making all of these different blocks. The pattern is from Jen Kingwell and is called "Delilah". Jen Kingwell is coming to Maine Quilts this summer and I am sure she will be pleased to see Donna's beautiful quilt.
Donna fell in love with this adorable quilt from Sue Stitchbury's book Calico and Stitch. Donna did big stitch quilting which makes for a very soft and cuddly quilt.
Donna and I signed up for a block of the week quilt pattern called Potluck from Gay Bomers of Sentimental Stitches. Based on a quilt from the 1930s. It was fun to make this together with much discussion over the weeks.
Here's my (Beth) version. I changed up two of the blocks. Betty let me use her extensive stash of 1930's fabrics to round out my stash. It was an interesting challenge to make some of these blocks and some I never want to make again, but there is a feeling of satisfaction in the making.
My (Beth) contribution for the Tacoma Christmas Word challenge. I appliqued and painted the letters. The "stars" are embroidered . Also rubber stamps, lace and big stitch quilting. Peace!
