TACOMA - May 3, 2017

Tacoma Lakes Quilters met for their business meeting May 3 and on April 19 we had a workshop with Leslie Muir Volpe. I am combining both postings so that you would be able to see some of the finished mini quilts.

It is wonderful to have all the snow/cold weather behind us and a good group joined together with the usual things we do...our mini-drawing, Food for thought which benefits Backpack Program and Food bank....fat quarter club exchange.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Maine Quilt Show July 27-29 at the Augusta Civic Center. Many of us STILL working on our chapter challenge of 24" red and white quilts that will be displayed.

UPCOMING EVENT: A workshop on the 17th to make a 'Hunter Star"  with Cora Swalec.  A road trip on  May 18 to the Quilting Museum in Lowell, MA with other stops. October 3,4,5 a group of us are headed to Mountain View Resort, Jackman for a retreat.

In place of our auction as a fundraiser we are having a QUILTERS' CRAFT FAIR SEPTEMBER 23.. .MARK YOUR CALENDARS. Our member's will have their own table and will have lots of fun things to purchase.

SHOW 'N TELL
Our workshop teacher Leslie Muir Volpe
She taught us how to make a mini quilt using churn dash blocks.
She is very skilled at what she does and had lots of tips for us along with beautiful examples of her work. Truly Inspiring!!!
