Tacoma April Meetings

April has been a fun month for the Tacoma Lakes Quilters. We skipped the business meeting at the beginning of the month and instead caught a bus down to New Hampshire for the Machine Quilters Exposition. Many of us attend MQX every year; but it was the first time for a few of our members, and I'm sure everyone had a good time.

For the second meeting this month, Kat conducted a workshop based on a technique from Karla Alexander's book, Stack, Slide and Shuffle--A New Technique for Stack the Deck Quilts. The piecing is simple, but the shuffling requires a bit of concentration. It's a fun technique with lots of possibilities.

Our theme for the March Block of the Month was black and white, and we had a nice selection of blocks for the winner.

Everyone always enjoys Show and Tell; and as usual, our members have been busy.
