Tacoma Meeting October 16

Our Tacoma Quilters of Litchfield held a short business meeting and what we called a 'Block Party' and of course we had 'Bring and Brag' (formally show 'n tell). I also will be sharing a few pics of the very successful auction we held Oct. 12th.

BRING AND BRAG:
Sue D with this beautiful 'DELECTABLE MOUNTAIN'
Carol T. 'PHOTO ALBUM' using beautiful scenery of fabric she purchased in Arizona.
Sandy K 'TURNING TWENTY' this was a workshop held in September.
 Janice C. - Kit by Helene Knoff's
 Sandy J. 'DISAPPEARING 4-PATCH
Sandy J. 'FAN WALL HANGING' by Sashiko - Design by Miho Takeuchi
Rayna - "Sea Shells' done in blue's and hand embroidered.

BLOCK PARTY

We had 5 who shared different techniques with hand-outs.
I am sharing some photo's to show the different layouts that were not in the handouts.

Sharing was Ann, Margo, Barb, Sue R and Helen
These were simple and quick ways to make a quilt.

THIS IS THE BOOK WITH 10 MIN. BLOCK
Ann demonstrated the 'TEN MINUTE BLOCK' This one uses a smaller center.
10 min. block using all the same size.
Barb taught - 'TUBE QUILTING' using 2 1/2" strips
 another possible layout
amazing what you can do using your imagination.
Helen shared 'how to 'STRIP SET BLOCK' using 4 1/2" blocks and cutting.

Sue taught flying geese - making 4 at a time.

Margo taught 9 and 4-patch disappearing blocks.
Sandy J above has a finished quilt using this technique.

Barb taught  'Delectable Mountain' and
Sue D shows a finished example above.

We all had handouts but some of them were not printed
so I took pics so the gals could have this visual.

AUCTION

Just a few of 'before' pics of the auction. We had over 600 items
and it was a lot of work that took lots of hands.
Our co-odinator was Suanne who put endless hours into it and was so appreciated by all.
She did an amazing job along with others to make it very successful.
Suanne instructing us.
 More instruction
This is the masses of stuff to be tagged and put together.
Helper-Josh.....day off from school and Gram enlisted!!
Books and packaged material for sale
Jacob sorting books with Gram...Josh is his twin.
 Kitchen area and book/fabric tables
Sandy G and Sandy C greeting as you come in.
Barb, Pres. being served coffee by Sue R.....this is an inside joke. But could not resist sharing.
We love them both and gave us a laugh which we needed from time to time.
Everything set in its place....auction tables...chairs....luncheon tables.
Kitchen - Helen coordinator with Sue C and Pauline
Also did an outstanding job putting it all together.
 Kat who collected lunch monies.

It was a busy time this month and very enjoyable for all. And of course the best part is that we gave all the 'stuff' we did not want and then purchased more 'stuff'.
Their junk became our treasure. Until,,,,,,,,,,,
