June 18 Meeting

Our last fling of the 2011-12 season for Tacoma Lakes, Litchfield. This was our summer picnic and of course, there is never any lack of food. Each one brought their own project....some hand sewing....some making pillow cases...some just visiting. The room was filled with lots of love and laughter. Show 'n Tell follows:

Sherry who served as our V.Pres this past year showed a quilt with a story. Given to someone to quilt about 2006 and forgotten by both. To her delight was returned and quilted by Koleen.
 "CABIN AT 9-PATCH MOUNTAIN"
 Sherry's "FOUR-PATCH" done with scraps.
Pam took a class in Winslow "QUILT AS YOU GO' bargello.
 Sandy G. "LEAF SEASON"
 Janice 1930's fabrics Sadie
Margo and Janice who are doing BOM with Country Junktion. This is month of of JULY in a series of 12.
These two gals, Sue B and Pam have been so faithful in collecting pillow cases for Conker Cancer each year. We had about 50 to give this time. Simple to make and so appreciated by those who receive them in Skowhegan/Waterville area.

A friend of Jona, Hanna, who visits her each year from Iceland where Jona is originally from. She was also with us for our picnic last year. She speaks very little English but was making pillow cases right along with us. It is always nice to have her visit.
Food and Friends
This is it for this posting. The next event that we are excited about is the Maine Quilt 35th  Annual Show being held at the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta July 27-29. Our group have volunteered for Admissions along with others and we also have entered about 15 challenge quilts this year. COME AND WE WILL SEE YOU THERE!!
