March 7, 2012 Meeting

Always an exciting time when we gather together for our meetings. They start at 9:30 officially but most of us are there anywhere from 8:30am and on. A cup of coffee and so many goodies await us. We have a business meeting the first meeting of the month and the 2nd one is usually a workshop. The highlight is always Show'n Tell. We have a busy group of gals.

Andrea  with this cute mini Dresden Plate that she purchased for $15.
Don't you love a find like this!!!
We had a Tacoma challenge ....choosing 9 blocks and we could do anything we wanted . This is Margo's done in red./white & black
A 3 panel wall hanging by Margo called 'Birds of a Feather."
'Animal Kingdom' done by Margo....a kit purchased from Keepsake Quilting.
Margo's March BOM ....a series of 12 by countryjunktion.com. Done with freezer paper needle turn applique...machine quilted and 3 gold buttons.
These boats sails are all signed and done as  s special gift for a friend by Ann.

 Janet's Yellow Brick Road-wonderful coloring.
These were 2 1/2" strips that each of us received when we did 'Strip for a Day' last month.
Janet's creation.
Suanne - This was hand applique and quilted made for her grandson. Each turtle has a floppy tail...adorable!
This was a wonderful 'old' quilt done in fan design....Bea wanted some suggestions as to how to finish it off...A wonderful treasure!
Barb is modeling her sweatshirt she finished off and purse (designed by her) from charm pack in pink she received from her 'secret sister'. She is sooo clever!
Pauline with her finished BOM from CountryJunktion.com. It is always fun to see what fabrics each one is made with.
Carol with her cute cover made for her sewing machine. It has a handle on the top. Clever idea!
Quess who!! Jona with her delightful hand done snowman BOM. Beautiful Job!
Sue - a project she started in Iceland when stationed there. It was a block swap and she hand dyed all the yellow. It was one of UFO's waiting to be finished.
She was tired of it but we really liked it!
 Koleen 'Medallion Medley.' Beautiful!
Koleen's Tacoma Challenge - we used 9 block any way we wanted. Very Nice! These will be shown in the Maine Quilt Show in July.

Each month we have 'How do you do that'. This month was a demonstration on how to make affinity scarfs by Pauline and Barb.
 APRONS!! APRONS!!! APRONS!!
