March 28 Meeting

It was cold and rainy weather with a hint that it may be a little slippery on our back roads. But that did not stop Tacoma Quilters as we met for our monthly meeting that had been postponed from the week before. The air of excitement is always present as we meet together and share patterns, tips, ideas or whatever. We had a short business meeting and then a workshop for a 60 degree table runner.

Each month we have a raffle and the lucky winner was Janice who is just back from Florida. Beautiful wool fabrics plus a towelette to be embroidered. Her smile tells it all.
Carol made this adorable rabbit that is a shelf sitter...so cute!!
Sandy Ca. finish her Tacoma Sampler Challenge to be displayed at the Maine Quilt Show in July.
Sandy with this wonderful 'Quilters Psalm'.

Sandy Ca. 'To the Moon and Back'...SWEET!
Sue's tesselating quilt - 'a UFO finally finished' she says.!! That always makes a quilter happy!!
Judy was the envy of many of us with these delightful bags made from the salvage edge of material that she has been collecting for a few years. Very Nice!!
 Judy's bag made with grommets.
We are delighted to have our newest member, Sandy G.,  who has only been quilting for 3 weeks and has jumped in head first. This is her second quilt.
This is Sandy's FIRST QUILT. She did a great job and it will be exciting to watch her and her projects. Good color choices.
Debbie F. watched as each month many of the girls showed their quilts so she has been working hard to finish a large quilt to be able to show. I would say A++. It is beautiful! The vines give it that special look. Proud of you Deb
This is Margo's 'Sassy purses' designed by Barb D. Lots of fun to make and very easy. Handles are removable so you can have several bags using the same handles.
Margo ' s Funky Folk Flowers ...designed by Susan L. Powell. A class she took over 10 years ago and finally finished the center. It is done with freezer paper needle turn applique.   30" square. It was a learning piece  of finite pieces and fun to do.
