TACOMA MEETING - February 18, 2015

Tacoma Quilters of Litchfield met today. It has been a very snowy season and looked like we might have to cancel but Mr. Snow decided to wait which was to our delight. We love getting together and catching up on the current news whether quilting, knitting or personal sharing. A cup of coffee and  goodie and you will find little groups here and there before the meeting 
and many working on knitting or handwork. 
We have a raffle twice a month and this month a basket of canned goods..... happily won by Donna. 
We had a short business meeting with a couple of demo's

Knitters Needed for Special Olympics

For those of you who are interested in knitting a scarf for Special Olympics, as Helen discussed at our last meeting, the yarn required for the project is Red Heart Supersaver White #E300-311 and/or Cherry Red #E300-319. You may use any pattern and knit any size you wish. Deadline for turn in to Helen is April 15. Contact Helen for more details. Happy Knitting!

Tacoma Meeting - February 4, 2015

Tacoma Lake Quilters of Litchfield held their February meeting. Amazingly it did not snow but was a fairly nice day. A smaller group but always a lot of chatter about projects. So many are underway that sometimes you feel like you are in a spin zone trying to stay on top of them. The carpenter's star workshop was successful with finished tops this month. Also popular was a donated block of the month done in red and white with 20 participants. Ann W name was drawn. It was so popular that we decided to do green for March.

1. Quilt Journal - each day she does something creative.
2. Quilt Inspiration Book - designs or pictures that
give her inspiration for a new project.

Make different covers and change them out
with clips on purse straps. The zipped pocketbook 
part pops out easily. Unique!!

Tacoma Meeting - January 21, 2015

Tacoma Quilters of Litchfield held their meeting Wednesday. We had a short business meeting and followed by a workshop to make the Carpenter's Star' instructed by Ann W. Of course, we had our usual goodies and coffee and ladies were laden down with their machines or project they were working on. We had only a couple 'show and tell' this week. So this will be short and sweet as they say.

Tacoma Meeting - January 7, 2015

Tacoma Lake Quilters met Wednesday for their business meeting and block party. As always hot coffee and goodies awaited us. Lots of chatter as we face another full year of projects. Lots of sharing of upcoming ideas. Amazing how excited we get when something new is shared ....our brains start thinking about the colors etc. Fun Fun!!! Show and Tell is always interesting and it is again this month as some of the ladies put their own bent on a design. We had a block party where a gal demonstrated an idea of  'how to'.

Demo by Sue of  'Piecing with Poppers'  It was a class she took to make the quilt 'pop' 
She shared how to sew them perfectly straight.

Koleen demonstrated one template of freezer paper that made 2 different blocks
based on a quilt from Scrap Basket Surprise and also 
Scrap-Basket Beauties by Kim Brackett
 I got so involved watching I forgot to get a picture.

This gives us an idea of what it looks like.
