Tacoma Meeting - January 7, 2015

Tacoma Lake Quilters met Wednesday for their business meeting and block party. As always hot coffee and goodies awaited us. Lots of chatter as we face another full year of projects. Lots of sharing of upcoming ideas. Amazing how excited we get when something new is shared ....our brains start thinking about the colors etc. Fun Fun!!! Show and Tell is always interesting and it is again this month as some of the ladies put their own bent on a design. We had a block party where a gal demonstrated an idea of  'how to'.

Demo by Ann of a 'Zipper quilt' design from Missouri Star Quilt Co. Block magazine,  Spring Vol 1 Issue 2. Two rows are shown to give us an idea of what it looks like.
Demo by Sue of  'Piecing with Poppers'  It was a class she took to make the quilt 'pop'
She shared how to sew them perfectly straight.
You can purchase them precut from http://www.piercingwith poppers.com/

Koleen demonstrated one template of freezer paper that made 2 different blocks
based on a quilt from Scrap Basket Surprise and also
Scrap-Basket Beauties by Kim Brackett
I got so involved watching I forgot to get a picture.

A February workshop taught by Koleen will be a pattern
"Don't Be Cruel"
This gives us an idea of what it looks like.

There are several other projects scheduled but this is just a taste of what we will be doing.
