A Busy Morning

Meliss began our Show and Tell with "Posh Penelope" The pattern is from Sew Kind of Wonderful and uses the Quick Curve Ruler.

Barb brought in her "Sew Kind of Wonderful" samples. We all love "Posh Santa" which uses the Quick Curve Mini Ruler. Barb gave a demo of  these rulers after Show and Tell.

Ann showed us this quilt top that she began in the way back time....in other words a UFO. "Urban Nine Patch" from Sew Kind of Wonderful.

" Dream Weaver" from Quick As A Wink 3-Yard Quilts. from 3 Yard Quilts. Ann always makes interesting quilts!

Betty made a pretty sewing machine cover using fabrics from her stash. 

...and a gorgeous small wall quilt from Carol Hopkins book "Civil War Legacy". Just lovely, Betty!

Jean calls this touch of spring "Fun Frayed Flowers", her own design. 

Jean created this lovely "temperature" quilt over the past months. Each column represents a month and each day shows the high and low temperature for that day. Each temperature range is indicated by the color fabric. Her quilt is complete with a label on the back showing the color/temperature translation. Who would think that that would result in such a pretty quilt? Very scientific! Jean was inspired by Joan Chao as seen on "The Quilt Show". 

Kat made this quilt for a benefit supper for a neighbor who has been in the hospital. I'm sure there will be money raised with this exciting design. Good going, Kat! 

Kat made her version of  "The Lady" by Villa Rosa Designs. A number of Tacoma members made this pattern to make quilts for charity. 

Meliss found this quilt at an estate sale. She offered it up to anyone who was interested as there are a number of repairs that need to be made. Trudy was the first to raise her hand to take on the challenge (or to leave it as is). 

Another Sew Kind of Wonderful quilt! Sharon W. made this one. The pattern is called "Metro Ring". It reminds me of both the wedding ring quilt and, due to the title, driving through a rotary. Sharon's quilt looks much more fun to navigate than a rotary! Sharon did the beautiful machine quilting, too. Really scrumptious!

Show & Tell April 3, 2024

 Tacoma Lakes Quilters met on April 3, 2024, just ahead of the N'or Easter! As always, Show & Tell is full of fantastic quilts, highlighting the tremendous talent in this chapter of PTQG. 

This is Ann with her "The Lady" quilt, 

a pattern from Villa Rosa Designs 

selected for our charity workshop. 

She quilted it herself, and it will be presented to 

the "Bridges to Blessings" 

representative when she visits soon.

It is completely paper-pieced. It is Leanne's specialty!!

After the business meeting, Meliss gave us a demonstration 

on how to make a quilt from fat quarters! 

It was very well thought out and easy to follow! 

Here, she shows where each cut of the fat quarter is put into the quilt.
