After Show and Tell (photos below), we had a quick business meeting. Sue K. agreed to take on the role of secretary. Thanks Sue! Lori brought Maine Quilts raffle tickets and encouraged everyone to sell at least 2 books of tickets. We were honored to display this year's MQ raffle quilt. Laura Nichols, Maine Quilts Coordinator, came to record the "reveal" of this year's raffle quilt. The video was uploaded to Facebook for all PTQG members to see. The quilt is a beauty called "Always A Way" pieced by Dan Perkins and quilted by Carol Perkins. Dan and Carol will have a special exhibit of their work at Maine Quilts. It is so exciting to realize that the quilt show will be in person this year.
Charity quilts are a big part of our group but we have not been able to donate for the past two years, so we discussed what we could do now. Carol T. offered to coordinate our charity giving. She suggested we donate to the Salvation Army for their CROWNS
program (cherished, respected, original, worthy, needed, strong). The program helps young women survivors of human trafficking in our area. We will work on charity quilts at our May meeting.
Next meeting is in April. Let's hope it will be a sunny day with green grass and daffodils!
Betty L showed us a cute snowman table mat that her friend Cece Smith made for her. Cece was a former member and she just joined us again at this meeting. Welcome Cece!
Carol T. proudly showed a crocheted blanket that her 26 year old grandson made! Creativity must run in the family.
Carol T. made a wall hanging using a scripture panel. Lovely colors, just in time for Easter.
Judy R showing her bowl from the same workshop Betty attended. Such talented ladies!
Judy R and her big red heart. Love that smile on Judy's face, don't we all love to share what we have made to an appreciative audience?
Sherry F showed us 2 stack and whack quilts she completed. These were long standing UFOs. Can you see the print on the back of the quilt? That's what Sherry used for the stack. So pretty!
Great job everyone! Always a treat to see what our active membership gets up to.
Happy Spring!
