Tacoma Lakes Quilters - 1.8.20

Today was our first meeting of the New Year, and the day started with a few snowflakes but not enough to keep our members at home--we had a decent turnout. It was a standard business meeting with the usual reporting, Mini Raffle, and Show and Tell. There was some additional discussion about trash disposal at the Lodge, our responsibility for door prizes for the PTQG Members Meeting on January 25, and a reminder to bring potholder blocks to the Members Meeting for those who wish to donate.

We also had two demos: SueR did one on making a potholder block/quilt a la Wendy Caton Reed, and DonnaM also did one on Circles on Fabric a la Timna Tarr.

 Show and Tell is always one of the highlights of our meetings, and our members are always busy.

Karen and Laura made bunches of lap-sized quilts for Meals on Wheels last year, and they've changed up their pattern and started a new bunch. This month they made 6 for their charity.

Janice completed another item on her UFO list, a wool candle mat, from Primitive Gatherings.
