Tacoma 2/22/2017

Tacoma Lakes Quilters of Litchfield met today....it is an off day because we have been snowed out so many times that we decided to meet and have a sew day with bag lunch. Thanks to Kat for filling in for me and taking these pictures for Show 'n Tell. Always a display of talent by our ladies.  I am sure it was profitable for those attending.

Tacoma, February 1, 2017

As it turns out, February 1 was our first meeting of the new year. Our meetings in January were both cancelled because of snow events; and in fact we had more snow on Wednesday but decided to hold the meeting anyway. Attendance was off a little, but we still got quite a bit done and good refreshments to boot. Along with our regularly scheduled activities, like Mini Raffle and drawings for Fat Quarter Club, we discussed the Area 4 meeting in the spring, an upcoming bus trip, and a Red and White Group Challenge for MaineQuilts in July.

Brenda collected several more quilts for the NICU unit, an ongoing giving project for our group; and we discussed the possibility of purchasing labels for those quilts. In mid-February, Brenda will make another trip down to Portland to deliver a new batch of quilts.

Our next meeting will be a Stack and Whack workshop for our members, featuring a local instructor, Barbara Accord.

Following Show and Tell, Brenda did a demonstration on Brenda Henning's method for constructing half square triangle units.
